Cassidy felt the vulnerability of his words stinging her fearful heart, encouraging her to banish the terror about them being together, to trust her instincts and finally taste those rugged lips.
As if sensing her inner struggle, he reluctantly let go, but seconds later she pulled him back, her mouth savoring his for the very first time.
“I—I shouldn’t have done that,” she stammered. “Please, let’s go now.” She ran for the elevator without a look back.
